GMS Privateer

Profile view of the white-hulled GMS Privateer utility vessel moored in shallow, rocky coastal waters with exposed seaweed, featuring a small enclosed center console and a single outboard motor.

The M/V Privateer is a compact, agile offshore support vessel operated by Goodwin Marine Services. Built in 1985 and powered by a robust 2006 Yamaha 150hp 2-Stroke engine, this 20-foot V-hull craft is designed for dependable performance and flexibility in nearshore and coastal environments.

Purpose-built for light-duty marine operations, the Privateer is easily trailerable and can be quickly launched at remote or hard-to-reach access points. This makes it an ideal solution for time-sensitive missions, utility support, and rapid response scenarios.

Despite its compact size, the vessel is equipped with essential marine gear to support a range of mission-critical activities. The open-deck layout allows for adaptable use in scientific research, environmental monitoring, inspection work, and crew transport. Its portability and versatility give it a strategic advantage in logistically challenging settings.
